Ingredients
Spiced Syrup
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) water
- 1/2 cup (120 g) granulated sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 whole cloves
- 4 whole allspice berries
- 2 whole star anise
Spiced Espresso Martini
- 1 1/2 oz (45 ml) vodka
- 1 oz (30 ml) coffee liqueur
- 2 teaspoons Javy Coffee Concentrate
- 2 oz (15 ml) spiced syrup
- Ice cubes
- Coffee beans or a cinnamon stick for garnish (optional)
Directions
- Start by making the spiced syrup. In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice berries, and star anise. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved, and the syrup takes on a rich, spiced flavor. Remove from heat, strain, and allow the syrup to cool.
- Once the spiced syrup is ready, fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
- Add the vodka, coffee liqueur, Javy Coffee Concentrate, and the 1/2 oz (15 ml) of spiced syrup to the shaker.
- Shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds until the mixture is well-chilled
- Strain the contents of the shaker into a chilled martini or coupe glass.
- If desired, garnish with a couple of coffee beans or a cinnamon stick.
